Jack James Fellin, 91, passed away peacefully at his home on July 7, 2025, in Ouray. He was born on December 23, 1933, at the Perotti family home in Portland, Colorado.
Jack grew up in Ouray, served in the U.S. Army during the era of the Korean Conflict and received his bachelor of arts degree at Western State University. He began his career teaching and coaching at Ouray High School and then held management roles for the Marriott Corporation in Oregon, Washington and Alaska.
He and his wife, Karin, spent 65 years together raising their family and being each other’s loyal partners through life’s journey. After retiring, they returned home to Ouray to enjoy the peace and friendships the mountains and town had to offer them.
Jack is survived by his wife Karin; his daughter Lezah Saunders (Tim); his sons Sam Fellin (Lisa) and Ted Fellin (Ann); and 9 grandchildren.
Services will be held at St. Daniel Catholic Church in Ouray at 10 a.m. Friday, July 18.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Daniel Catholic Church in Ouray.
