Log Hill photographer Tony Litschewski captured this image of the lunar eclipse early Tuesday morning, around 4 a.m. This total lunar eclipse reddened the moon, when the Earth passed directly between the sun and the moon, casting a shadow over the lunar and blocking most of the sun’s light from reaching the full moon. The next total lunar eclipse visible in the continental U.S. is forecasted to happen in 2029. Photo courtesy Tony Litschewski/naturesfinestimages.com
