RAILROAD DAYS HIKE: Ouray County Railroad Days guided hike along Silverton Railroad route on Red Mountain from Guston to Joker Tunnel. Meet at 9 a.m. at Corkscrew trailhead, bring lunch and weather gear. Free.

FARMERS MARKET: Ridgway Farmers Market at Hartwell Park. Every Friday through Oct. 13. 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.

PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT: Inaugural San Juan Slam, Ridgway Athle_c Park. Free to watch local youth demo tournament and evening open play prac_ce, starts at 5 p.m. Visit ridgwaypickleball.org for details.

OLD WEST FEST: Celebra_ng everything “True Grit” and Old West. Free tours of the old Ma_e Ross house on Last Dollar Road from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Visit the fes_val headquarters tent between the Ouray County Ranch History Museum and the Ridgway Railroad Museum on Railroad Street for more details from noon- 3 p.m. Meet Clancy and Maggie, pack mules, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The Ouray County Ranch History Museum will be open from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

TOUR: Special Old West Fest True Grit Walking Tour.

Meet at the gazebo at Hartwell Park at noon and 2 p.m.

Free, dona_ons welcome.

OURAY COUNTY RAILROAD DAYS: Celebrate Ouray County’s world-famous narrow-gauge history with docents on site and free train rides, Ridgway Railroad Museum, 200 N. Railroad St., 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Model train open house 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at 17 Whitehouse Vista Lane north of Ouray. Guided auto tour along the D&RG Ouray Branch route, meet at the museum at 1 p.m. All events are free.

PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT: Inaugural San Juan Slam, Ridgway Athle_c Park. Free to watch women’s and men’s doubles tourney, starts at 8 a.m. Visit ridgwaypickleball. org for details.

LIVE MUSIC: Ouray County Performing Arts Guild presents Hazel Miller and the Collec_ve at the Wright Opera House, Ouray, 7:30 p.m. $30 adult, $5 student. Tickets at ocpag.org.

TRAIN RIDES: Free rides every Saturday through mid-October, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Ridgway Railroad Museum, 200 N. Railroad St., Ridgway.

OKTOBERFEST: Presented by The Gray Tavern and Silver Eagle Saloon, noon-7 p.m., Fellin Park in Ouray. Live music, drinks, food, games, contests, face pain_ng and more. Free admission.

CHILI COOKOFF: Woman’s Club of Ouray County hosts the inaugural Smackdown Chili Cook-Off during Oktoberfest at Fellin Park. Chili booths open to the public 3:30-5 p.m., $10 for 24 oz chili. Supports Ouray County non-profits.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1
