Pool heater sparked clubhouse fire
The fire that destroyed the former Fairway Pines clubhouse in November started in a pool heater in a maintenance room, investigators determined.
According to a report written by Ouray County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Bernie Chism, the fire originated in a pool heater, then spread to nearby combustible materials. The ignition source was electric heat energy.
