County secures full-time nurse

Ouray County Public Health Director Tanner Kingery was pleased to report the hiring of a full-time nurse to the Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday. The county has previously only had a nurse one day per week.

Rebecca Stewart’s hiring as county nurse, made possible with CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act funding, will enable the county to expand its COVID-19 testing capacity. She will also provide health education throughout the community and in the schools, and man...
