Saddle up for skijoring this weekend
Usually the Weber Ranch uses heavy machinery for harvesting hay.
But this week, two front-end loaders and two backhoes were scraping up snow from the fields, loading it into dump trucks and trucking it to the fairgrounds.
These fluffy piles of snow are building material for this weekend’s San Juan
Skijoring competition – a form of ski and snowboard racing with horses. The construction of that track is one that has been about 10 months in the making.
