Dear Editor:

After returning from out of town and seeing the new, hideous signs on Main Street, my initial thought was that our town has lost its integrity. The signs are out of scale—too large, too low, poorly placed, and entirely out of character with Ouray. They’re one-sided and so oversized they obstruct storefronts.

They give off the impression that our city feels the need to cater to visitors who supposedly can’t navigate a simple nine-block street. These signs should be removed. Inste...
