Western Slope Food and Farm Forum focuses on adapting to climate change and working together E-mail

Last week’s Western Slope Food and Farm Forum, held in Montrose, opened with Jerri Omernik, of Rocky Mountain Farmers Union, 4H Club and Edward Jones, describing the Continental Divide as being “a barrier in being able to participate in educational opportunities.” She explained the forum was intended to remove that barrier for Western Slope farmers and ranchers. She went on to say, “what fits guys on the Front Range and Eastern Plains doesn’t fit on our side of the hill” and promised the forum would focus on locally relevant information.
