Obituaries
By News Staff, on November 11, 2021
William “Bill” Stark Jr.

William “Bill” Stark, Jr. passed onward in Colorado Springs on Monday, November 1st of complications from cancer. He was surrounded by loving family members. Bill was born and raised in Ouray, Colorado, third generation, in 1938 to William Stark, Sr. and Irna Stark. He went on to graduate from the University of Colorado. He served in the U.S. Army and then had a long career with government and military contractors in a variety of high-tech projects. Later, he opened a bed and breakfast in La Veta, Colorado with his wife, Tracy Webb, which they ran for 21 years. Bill also served on the La Veta City Council as mayor pro-tem.

Bill loved to spend time with his grandchildren, to play golf, and meet new people. He refused to let anyone trim his exceedingly bushy eyebrows. You couldn’t meet a more congenial, kind, and thoughtful person.

Mr. Stark is survived by his wife, Tracy Webb, and her children, Todd Macon and Todd and Jennifer James, and her grandchildren, Zacc and Josh James and Mia Macon, whom he loved and who loved him in return. Bill is also survived by his children Kristin and Kyle Stark.

Bill will be remembered and honored on Tuesday, November 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance in Colorado Springs. Donations in his honor in lieu of flowers can be made to Memorial Hospital Foundation or Pikes Peak Hospice.
