Our fabulous, fleeting fall gold rush
Our high-country autumn in the San Juans gives us a precious few weeks to savor and revel in the glorious gold accenting our yards, lining our town streets and blanketing our towering mountain slopes. This is the magical time of year to take that scenic drive, walk the path to the reservoir or simply sit in quiet wonder at the spectacle unfolding all around us. We are naturally drawn to this rich tapestry of gold, amber and bronze, especially when those warm hues contrast so brilliantly against the deep, steadfast green of surrounding conifers.
