Ouray County has hired Henry Mitchell as the recovery manager, a new position in the Emergency Management Department to coordinate the county’s recovery from the Gold Mountain Fire.

Mitchell, who has been serving as the deputy director of the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response in the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, will start work Sept. 28, County Manager Antonio Mendez told county commissioners Sept. 9.
