Hundreds of Montrose-area residents, elected officials, emergency responders and other public servants line U.S. Highway 50 on Monday, holding flags to honor a pilot who died while fighting the Gold Mountain Fire on Sunday. The procession of emergency vehicles and firefighting engines honored the pilot as his body was transported to Community Hospital in Grand Junction for an autopsy as part of the investigation into his death.
