July 7, 1966 Dynamite charges started Ouray’s Independence Day Celebration with a bang, the breaking of a few windows, dishes, etc. The parade, the first event of the day and led by the Ouray High School band, was followed by several interesting floats, the fire department, baton twirlers from Ridgway and several comical characters by the children.
