Drought persists, but relief may be en route
Ouray County remains in serious drought, as it was last month. Most of Colorado’s mountains are in extreme/ exceptional drought; the northern San Juans remain in the severe category. (U.S. Drought Monitor, June 18, Climate Prediction Center, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) The June 18 CPC one-month outlook, however, predicts above normal temperatures and precipitation in July. The three-month outlook for July, August, September shows the same forecast.
