Montrose resident Brett Brachman-Goldstein has been identified as the man who was found deceased on Mt. Sneffels on June 11, according to Ouray County Coroner Glenn Boyd.
Investigators believe Brachman-Goldstein, 32, was running on Mt. Sneffels and fell down on scree, the loose, sharp rock pieces covering the mountainside.
His body was found and reported by hikers. Investigators believe he fell the day before, Boyd said.
Boyd said the Ouray County Sheriff’s Office and the Ouray Mountain Rescue Team assisted in recovering Brachman-Goldstein’s body and the investigation.
An autopsy with toxicology will be performed to determine the cause and manner of his death.
