The Ridgway Town Council has decided it’s willing to take a chance on a grant-funded public process in pursuit of an all-electric building code for new construction.

Councilors unanimously voted on Wednesday to accept a state grant totaling $1.34 million — $170,000 of which will pay for stakeholder education and input on an all-electric building code for new construction. Councilors will then vote on the policy amendment in early 2028.
