Ridgway freshman Martina Smith clears the bar during the girls’ high jump competition at the Phil Wertman Invitational in Grand Junction on April 10. Smith finished fourth out of 23 competitors, clearing 4 feet, 11 inches. The Ridgway girls' team finished fifth overall out of 24 teams at the meet. All of the schools that finished in front of Ridgway, a Class 2A program, were Class 5A programs. The next track and field meet for both schools is the Ron Keller Invitational in Durango on April 18.
