Ann Massard

August 24, 1926 – November 26, 2025

Our dear mother, Ann Massard, of Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. She was the loving wife of Robert Louis Massard, who passed in 2013, and daughter in law to Frank & Ruth Massard, former longtime residents of Ouray, Colorado (1897-1999). Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on August 24, 1926 to John & Anne Connor, Ann graduated from Newton High School in 1944 and worked as a secretary at Boston University and M.I.T., where she met a promising graduate student from Colorado who was getting his master’s degree in electronics working on the Whirlwind Computer Project. Ann & Bob were married in 1950, and he became one of the engineer- founders of Computer Control Company (3C) in 1953 and then Financial- Technical Assistance (Fin-Tech) in 1969. Their family of four children (Vicki, Pam, Gregg & Wendy) grew up in Wellesley Hills with annual summer visits to Ouray to see Frank & Ruth. We all have so many wonderful childhood memories of jeeping in Yankee Boy Basin, up Poughkeepsie and to Engineer Mountain. Sitting on the front porch at 344 5th Street visiting with Emmy Lou Wilder, Louie Jones and Doris Sutton while watching the hummingbirds in their beautiful garden was always a treat.

Ann loved to sing and she instilled that love of music in all her children and grandchildren. She sang on the radio in Youth on Parade for many years before she was married, and in the choir at church. Ann & Bob enjoyed dancing, curling, skiing and travelled extensively in the Caribbean and Europe, including trips to Ireland and Switzerland, where Bob was able to do more research for their family genealogies – one of his favorite hobbies.

Ann will be dearly missed by all of her family: Victoria McCormick (husband Stephen) of Shelburne Falls, MA; Pamela Tisch (husband David) of Lake Luzerne, NY, and Sarasota, FL; Gregg Massard (wife Jonanne) of Mashpee, MA and Wendy Hakken (husband Joel) of Burlington, VT.

She is survived by nine loving grandchildren: Matt McCormick, Tim McCormick, Erich (Alison) Tisch, Emilie Tisch Delaney (Matt), Gretchen Tisch, Andrew (Joele) Massard, Julia Massard Powers (Kyle), Dillon Hakken (fiancée Kassiana Revious), and Darby Hakken. She is survived by seven wonderful great grandchildren: Jasper & Cora Tisch, Will & Bo Delaney, Ariella & Jacqueline Massard and Madeline Powers.
