It’s not uncommon for track athletes to break in a new pair of shoes at the dawn of a new season. But it is exceedingly rare for all of them to have the chance to set a new course record, which is exactly what played out when dozens of student-athletes from Ridgway, Ouray and the surrounding region christened the Cimarron Athletic Field for the inaugural Ridgway Invite on March 14.
