July 15, 1941 – January 20, 2024
An obituary was never written for my husband, Bob, because he still lives on in my life (Claudia Sue Zanett); the lives of our two sons — Robert Gordon Zanett (wife Kristi) and Jonathan Kendall Zanett (wife Amy); and the lives of our six grandchildren — Joshua, Karrissa, Giovanni, Caden, Noah and June; all of whom tell and retell the numerous memories Bob shared of his life’s adventures while sitting around our kitchen table.
To watch him and the grand kiddos when he would share with them his numerous escapades (no matter how many times they heard these), Bob and kiddos were in the heights of their glory. He never tired of telling and they never tired of listening AND, to this day, we all hash and rehash Bob’s words.
Bob grew up in Ouray and went clear through school here; graduated in 1960; went into the Army in August of 1960 for two years; married Claudia in 1963. When Bob passed on to be with our Lord on January 20, 2024, he and Claudia had been married 60 years, 51 days. Bob is and always will be MY LIFELONG LOVE and one day we will be together again in heaven forever.
Bob was the son of Bruno and Dorothy Zanett (both have passed) Bob is survived by his brother-Dick Zanett (Sandy); sister-in-law-Sherrie Funburg (Ken); brother-in-law-Tom Forbes (Brenda); sister-in-law-Cindy. And blessed by our awesomely wonderful six grandchildren.
He was an active member of his church family at Ouray Baptist Church. Bob lived and loved people of Ouray and his love of the mountains was in his many hikes to reach the summit of those mountains. We miss him so much but his memory and our ever endearing love of him lives on in our hearts as we cherish the memories. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for the many heartwarming blessed memories.
