October 21, 1965 Mrs. Chick (Laurel) Sturdivent was safe at home in Ouray Tuesday morning after a harrowing hunting experience. She was lost in a snowstorm for two nights and a day in some of the county's roughest country. She struggled through snow two feet deep on the level, to finally emerge, nearly 40 hours later, on Cow Creek in the vicinity of Red Creek.
