Ouray County Woman’s Club co-treasurer Heather Greisz presents Joan Chismire with a plaque in honor of being chosen 2025 Woman of the Year. Chismire received the honor at the club’s annual luncheon, held Tuesday at the Ouray Community Center. She was recognized for her dedication and committment to the community since she moved to Ridgway with her family in 2002. Chismire has been the board president of the Ouray County Ranch History Museum since 2014, and helped lead the museum’s efforts to purchase the 16-acre campus off Railroad Avenue, just east of Ridgway Town Hall. Chismire continues to be the volunteer leader of the nonprofit, which has plans to create an experiential ranch history museum on the property. Erin McIntyre – Ouray County Plaindealer
