March 23, 1958-April 23, 2025
Suzanne (Sue) Lonergan Fries passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2025.
Sue was born on March 23, 1958, in North Syracuse, New York, to Francis and Genevieve Lonergan. She became a resident of Ouray in 1978, shortly after a spontaneous road trip to the San Juans where she met her husband, Mark. After settling in Ouray, Sue dedicated her life to being a supportive mother, family member, and active community member.
She is survived by her husband Mark Fries; two sisters, Patricia Nicholson and Christine Nazario; two sons, Eric Fries and Ethan Fries; two daughters-in law, Jami Fries and Konnie Fries; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Vie, Mark, Ava, Liam, Nathan, and Phoenix; and many extended family members and friends.
A private family celebration of life will be planned for a later time.
For the lady that was always one step ahead…
