Dear Editor: Where moo the cows that once feasted On the greenest of Uncompahgre grasses?

Perhaps they were whisked away by green aliens, Jersey drones, Mothman, or the chupacabra?

Or maybe the bovines themselves have chosen To hide out in a deep red rock canyon And are plotting a District 3 January insurrection?

I have faith that the region’s good sheriffs Will get to the bottom of this mystery, But for now the nostalgic part of me Whimsically reflects that we still live on the wild Western Slope.
