ONGOING EVENTS

BINGO: LAST WEEK for Bingo! Doors open at 6 p.m., first bingo game is at 7 p.m., Ouray Elks Lodge, 421 Main St. 10 games for $10. Cash prizes and light concessions.

TRAIN RIDES: Free train rides at the Ridgway Railroad Museum, 200 N. Railroad St. every Saturday, May-October, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and on Fridays during Ridgway Farmers Market, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

TRUE GRIT TOURS: Free, guided one-hour walking tour of “True Grit” film locations in Ridgway. Meet at the Hartwell Park gazebo at 2:45 p.m. on Fridays.

SENIOR LUNCH: Every Monday, with Neighbor to Neighbor, noon at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 329 Fifth Ave. Ouray. Transportation can be arranged. Call 970-325-4586 for more info.

ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS: Every Friday and Saturday morning at 9 a.m. and every Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. at St. Daniel’s Church, 614 Fifth St., Ouray. Every Thursday and Sunday at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of the United Church of the San Juans, 295 N. Lena St. Ridgway.

AL-ANON: Every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of the United Church of the San Juans, 295 N. Lena St. Ridgway, 970-318-6966.

STORYTIME: Every Monday and Saturday from 11-11:30 a.m., Ridgway Public Library, 300 Charles St. All ages welcome.

KIDS CRAFT TIME: Every Wednesday from 3:30-4:30 p.m., every Friday from 11-noon at Ridgway Public Library, 300 Charles St. For ages 3+ with adult helpers.

TWEEN & TEEN LIBRARY CAFE: Every Thursday, 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Ridgway Public Library. Participants from fifth-12th grade welcome.

MAH JONG: Every Tuesday, 1-4 p.m. at the Ridgway Public Library. All levels welcome.

LEGO CLUB: Every Tuesday, 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Ridgway Public Library. Ages 6+ welcome.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY: Every Thursday, 6 p.m. at Ridgway Community Church, 685 W. Sherman St., Ridgway. 970-626-5692. This is a confidential 12-step program. It is free and open to the public.

LIVE MUSIC: Kate and DJ, 6-8 p.m. Thursdays at Kismet Cafe, 618 Clinton St. Ridgway.

ART SHOW: Brittany Stadler’s “Intuitive Nature” on display through Sept. 18, the Wright Opera House, 472 Main St. Ouray.

YOGA/MEDITATION: Yin yoga and meditation with Holly Mitchell. Free. Bring a mat or blanket. 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the Ridgway State Park Visitor Center overlook, Dutch Charlie entrance.

LIVE MUSIC: Mixed Bag Jazz in the Tavern. Tickets $15. 7:30 p.m., Wright Opera House, 472 Main St. Ouray.

STAR PARTY: View the night sky with the Black Canyon Astronomical Society. Telescopes provided. 8-10 p.m. at Ridgway State Park Visitor Center, Dutch Charlie entrance.

 

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 1

LIVE MUSIC & DANCE: Rodeo dance, Eli Howard & the Greater Good with Ghost River, doors open at 5:30 p.m., music starts at 6 p.m. at the Ridgway Firehouse, 251 N. Railroad St. Tickets $15 singles, $25 couples.

 

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 2

PARADE: Labor Day Rodeo parade, 10 a.m. through Ridgway, route leads down Sherman Street to the fairgrounds.

RODEO: Ouray County Labor Day Rodeo. Gates open at 11 a.m. at the Ouray County 4-H Center and Fairgrounds at 22739 U.S. Highway 550 in Ridgway. Colorado Pro Rodeo Association Rodeo starts at noon. Tickets $10, free for kids age 5 and under and military personnel. Visit ouraycountyrodeo.com for details and tickets.

 

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4

MOVIE: Ouray International Film Festival Special Screening: Short Films from Ouray Film Fest 2023. Tickets $5. 7 p.m., Wright Opera House, 472 Main St. Ouray.
