This black bear frequented a Dumpster at the Divide Ranch golf course on Log Hill in 2022. Wildlife officials are warning residents to secure all possible food sources that could attract bears, including trash, pet food, barbecue grills and bird feeders, to avoid human-bear interactions. They also advise to keep food out of cars and to keep vehicles locked.

An uptick in bear incidents during the past week has wildlife officials warning residents to keep their doors and windows locked, even during the daytime, and avoid attracting the bruins as they begin to seek out easy sources of calories to prepare for hibernation.
