Edward Leyburn Beall Jr.

April 16, 1944-April 28, 2024

Edward Leyburn Beall Jr.

passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 28, 2024. He came into this world smiling and left the same way. Ed was born in Calhoun, Georgia, the youngest of four boys. His father was a pastor, and their home was typically a manse provided by the church. One of Ed’s best memories was spending a summer with his family and “Aunt” Pat in the backwoods of Kentucky. His father ministered to those living in the woods, and the boys, being boys, enjoyed sliding down a mud hill over and over and riding in the open-air Jeep through the dry river beds they used as roads.

Ed was a race car driver in the early years and loved it. He sold real estate, built custom homes, and was a real estate appraiser. He also worked for a company that oversaw the building of palaces for the royal family of Saudi Arabia. He loved traveling. He saw many countries throughout his lifetime, with pictures that fill boxes of unforgettable memories.

Ed married his true love, Marilyn Beall Cipra, later in life. They enjoyed beautifying and working on their Road Gate Farm. They spent their winters in San Carlos, Mexico, and continued their travel. Ed was devasted when his wife passed and was excited to be able to see her again in heaven. He hoped she would meet him with a glass of bourbon as he entered the pearly gates.

He was a member of the United Church of the San Juans. He looked forward to each Sunday, starting his week out right.

Ed is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Beall Cipra, his parents, Edward Leyburn Beall and Mildred Warfield Beall, and his brother, Howard Beall. He is survived by his son Chris Beall (Jessica and Boden Maness), daughter Carmen Warfield (John), his brothers, Prince Beall (Cleone) and Dickson Beall (Joan), and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he truly loved dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the United Church of the San Juans on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with lunch held afterward. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Hope West Hospice Care.
