HOME TRUST BREAKS GROUND ON DUPLEX

The Home Trust of Ouray County broke ground on its duplex project in Ridgway’s Parkside neighborhood on Oct. 18. The groundbreaking kicks off the first construction project for the Home Trust, using land donated by Patrick and Marti O’Leary. The affordable housing project will start accepting applications for potential buyers of the duplex by the end of 2023. The target income for those potential homeowners is at or below 120% of Area Median Income. The Home Trust has also recently purchased rentals in Ouray, with the goal of keeping them affordable for local residents, and has plans for 13 income-qualified apartments to be built on Oak Street in Ouray. Another plan to build a three-story mixed-use building at 660 Sherman St. in Ridgway is also underway, including affordable housing, commercial space and a space for licensed childcare. A projects timeline and more details are available online at hometrustoc.org.
