Joni passed away at her home in Montrose, Colorado after battling cancer.

She is survived by her children Michael and Grace.

Joni attended Fort Hays University where she attained a degree in sociology and the medical sciences. She worked as director of emergency medical services in Ouray, as an EMT, taught EMT classes, became deputy coroner, worked as town clerk in Ridgway, as well as a member of Town Council and the Planning and Zoning Committee. She was also co-owner of the Ridgway Firehouse Sculpture and Gallery. She was very passionate about art and gardening.

She then moved to Montrose and worked at Montrose Memorial Hospital in the ICU and in the Phlebotomy Center.

She loved the ocean and often said that Key West was one of her favorite places to be.

Joni was a true and loyal friend who had a heart of gold.

She was loved and will be missed by all of us.
