Bruce Lee Winfrey, 66, of Ouray, Colorado, passed away suddenly July 13, 2023, from complications due to COPD. He is survived by his wife Wendy and daughter Kelsey.
Bruce was born October 31, 1956, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Willis (Trooper) and Doris Evans Winfrey. He is survived by siblings Margaret Johnson (Bobby) Farmerville, La., Melvin Winfrey, Lyndon, Wa., and Danny Winfrey (Jennifer) Haynesville, La. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Nikalas and brother Brian.
Bruce was known for being the easygoing, laidback funny guy, always cracking jokes and enjoying life. His four sisters-in-law remember him as “always being in the family, he was an easygoing guy with a sly smile”.
Bruce was a talented woodworker who enjoyed the outdoors. He was always willing to lend a hand. Wherever he traveled to, he always ran into someone he knew and that’s how it always went, if you met Bruce, he would always remember you. Bruce will be deeply missed by his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 21, 2023, at 406 4th Street, Bernice, Louisiana, Tejo & Victor Avery’s old Café at 2pm. Please join us and bring your favorite memories to share. Refreshments will be served.
