Be part of the pool solution

Dear Editor: Over the last couple of years certain issues, particularly lower water temperatures, have caused a great deal of discontent among our citizens who have known and loved the Ouray Hot Springs Pool for a long time. We, Friends of the Ouray Hot Springs, have many of the same concerns. Seldom does anything good come from just complaining so instead we came together to see how we could collectively appreciate, promote and support this resource.

We are meeting monthly to share community sentiment and discuss ways we can proactively engage with Ouray city management to positively affect all aspects of both the pool and gym. In the short time we’ve been meeting, we’ve made headway; a new pace clock is on its way, discovery for an exit turnstile and an outdoor shower is underway, there is a gym advisory team meeting with city administration to address concerns.

We welcome you to be part of the discussion and discovery of solutions we are pursuing. If you would like to know more, email Lou Hart at harttohart72@gmail.com. Meantime, go check out it out; it’s still the amazing resource we cherish.

Lou Hart

On behalf of the Friends of the Ouray Hot Springs
