Internet, cell service out for hours Tuesday

Internet and cell service was cut to thousands of people in Ouray County and Telluride for several hours on Tuesday after a CenturyLink fiber line was damaged near Montrose.

Residents first began reporting service interruptions early Tuesday afternoon. Service was restored to most areas by Tuesday evening.

Some cell service providers were affected because they use CenturyLink’s fiber infrastructure.
