If the city votes “yes” for the excise tax on vacation rentals, Ouray will become one of the most highly taxed towns in Colorado. One of the main goals of this excise tax is to help fund affordable housing for workers. As someone who works in Ouray, and lives in Montrose, I have the pleasure of coming down to Ouray quite often.
