Celebrate starry skies at Top of the Pines

A free Dark Sky program is scheduled at Top of the Pines, 1035 Highland Dr., from Aug. 9-12.

The events include educational workshops, laser constellation tours and the “Saving the Dark” documentary film.

The educational workshops, scheduled from 8-10 p.m. each night, include these topics: Meteoroids and meteors; astrophotography tips; tips on selecting binoculars; lunar exploration; iPhone photography; constellation tours and meteor counting.
