Dear Editor:

In response to the group of emergency physicians call for continuing the local face mask mandate (April 29 Plaindealer edition), I have two basic questions;

1. Where’s the evidence that mask mandates are effective against COVID-19? They mention “scientific studies and CDC recommendations,” but don’t back it up with any references or supporting rationale.
