Ouray School will begin the year with more students than it did last year, with 16 more students than it had previously. The increase more than compensates for the enrollment declines the school experienced before school started last year.

Superintendent Tod Lokey attributes the increase to families with second homes in Ouray opting to move to the area, particularly from areas where the only option is online school or districts opted to cease their sports programs for now.
