Forest Service eyes Atlas Mill cleanup
Federal forest officials are looking to partner with conservation groups and others on a project to remove contaminated mine tailings from the Atlas Mill southwest of Ouray.
The Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests is seeking feedback from the public during a 30-day comment period that runs through April 4 and will host a public meeting on March 17 in Ouray to discuss the project.
