Board OKs tweaks to historic renovation

The Ouray Planning Commission on Tuesday recommended approval of an amendment to plans to renovate the historic Columbus Building that would allow for an enlargement of the rear of the building and expansion of a proposed rooftop restaurant and bar.

Planning commissioners voted 3-1 to amend the planned unit development for the property at 740 Main St. to allow a three-story, 600-square-foot addition and a larger rooftop seating area for customers to eat, drink and enjoy views of Ouray.
