Ouray County has an updated code for development in Colona, after the county commissioners and the planning commission approved a citizen-initiated request to update building requirements.

Craig Jackman, who owns several properties and more than 250 acres of land in and around Colona, petitioned the county to make changes clarifying the path for those who want to build in the unincorporated town, which is also the northern gateway to Ouray County.
