Motorcyclist killed on Engineer Pass
A 55-year-old motorcyclist from the Front Range was killed last week when he plunged off a cliff while he and a friend were riding up Engineer Pass, authorities said.
Ouray County Coroner Colleen Hollenbeck identified the victim as Forrest Smith of Castle Pines. Smith and his friend were about a mile up Engineer Pass Road from the U.S. Highway 550 turnoff when the accident happened the afternoon of Sept. 20, Ouray County Sheriff Lance FitzGerald said.
