Retired engineer seeks vision in bid for mayor
Greg Nelson’s decision to formally declare his candidacy for Ouray mayor outside the Wright Opera House wasn’t by accident.
The 58-year-old retired engineer sees how a dedicated group of individuals is revitalizing a 131-year-old performing arts venue that not long ago was on the verge of disrepair, and he believes city leaders need to take a cue from the Wright, devise a vision and plan for Ouray, then put that plan to work.
