TOWN OF RIDGWAY Charges filed against Scranton

Plaindealer Staff Report

Charges have been filed against Brian Scranton, Ridgway resident and town planning commission chair.

As of of Wednesday, the charges were released by the district attorney's office as one count of sexual assault as a Class 3 felony and one count of sexual assault as a Class 4 felony.

Scranton will appear at the Ouray County Courthouse May 5 at 9 a.m. for appearance on bond and return of filing of charges.

The planning and zoning chair was arrested March 24 and is represented by Roger Sagal.

Sagal said that Scranton denies any allegations of wrongdoing.

The arrest stems from a report filed last May, which the Colorado Bureau of Investigation recently revealed test results from. The specifics of those tests are not known at this time.
