Aug. 21

Officer responded to the 300 block of Sixth Avenue for a citizen assist.

Officer responded to the 1200 block of Main Street for a medical assist.

Aug. 22

Officer responded to the 500 block of Fifth Street for a wildlife problem

Officer responded to the 300 block of Sixth Ave for a citizen assist

Officer responded to the 300 block of Second Street for a medical assist

Officer responded to the 300 block of Sixth Ave for another citizen assist

Officer responded to the 300 block of Second Street for another medical assist

Officer responded to the 1600 block of Main Street for a suspicious incident.

Aug. 23

Officer investigated a harassment complaint.

Officer red-tagged an abandoned vehicle in the 300 block of Sixth Avenue.

Officer conducted a bar check at Silver Saloon.

Aug. 24

Officer conducted a directed patrol on Main Street.

A suspicious truck was reported in the 100 block of Seventh Avenue.

Officer conducted a medical assist at the Outlaw Restaurant.

Officer conducted a medical assist at 148 Loretta Court.

Officer conducted a foot patrol on Main Street.

Officer conducted a traffic stop for speeding in the 1200 block of Main Street

Officer responded to a noise complaint at the Brick House 737.

Aug. 25

Officer responded to a stray animal at 1804 Main Street.

Officer responded to 325 Fifth St. for a medical assist.

Officer responded to the Hot Springs Pool for a medical assist.

Officer took a lost property report.

Aug. 26

Officer went to the Ouray School Open House.

Officer responded to a report of a bear getting into a trash can behind the Ouray Women’s Club Park.

Officer conducted a directed patrol of the 4+J RV Park

Officer discovered the same bear from earlier in the night back half a block away getting into another trash can. The bear couldn’t get the lid open so it ate the back of the can open to get inside.

Officer responded to the 400 block of Main Street for a report that someone hit a flower planter while attempting to park.

Aug. 27

Officer responded to a medical call in the 900 block of Main Street.

Officer investigated a reported dog bite.

Officer responded to a report of two cubs and a momma bear near Cascade Falls. The cubs got locked up in a CPW bear trap and the momma bear was waiting around for the cubs to be released. CPW eventually let the two cubs out, without incident.

Officers responded to Highway 550 near Amphitheater Road for an assault. Apparently two men got into a rock-throwing fight after one of them failed to pay for a meal in town.

Officer initiated a traffic stop for speeding in the 900 block of Main Street.

Officer conducted a directed patrol of Oak Street.

Officer conducted a foot patrol of Main Street.

Aug. 28

Officer responded to the Police Department to assist a citizen.

Officer conducted a COPS patrol at the school.

Officer conducted a traffic stop for failure to stop at the stop sign at Third Avenue and Second Street.

Officer conducted a directed patrol on Oak Street.

Officer conducted a directed patrol at the school.

Officer responded to a stray animal in the 800 block of Fourth Street. Owner was found before officer arrived.

Officer responded to a noise complaint in the 700 block of Fourth Street.

Officer responded to bear call at 903 Sixth St.

Officer conducted a traffic stop for a defective tail light in the 1200 block of Main Street.

Officer responded to the 800 block of Main Street to assist someone locked out of their vehicle.

Aug. 29

Officer responded to a found property report at the police department.

Officer responded to a medical assist at 120 Sixth Ave.

Aug. 30

Officer conducted a foot patrol of the Ouray School.

Officer spoke with a party about lost property.

Officer investigated a hit and run accident in the 200 block of Sixth Avenue.

Officer conducted a foot patrol of Cascade Falls.

Officer responded to a gas line break in the 400 block of Fifth Street.

Officer conducted a directed patrol of Oak Street.

Officer investigated a theft from a local business.

Officer conducted a foot patrol of Main Street.

Officer conducted a foot patrol of Fifth Street as school let out.

Officer conducted a business check of the Quality Inn.

Officer initiated a traffic stop in the 200 block of Third Avenue for disregarding a stop sign.

Officer took custody of a found credit card located in the 300 block Seventh Avenue.

Officer responded to a bear report at the Hot Springs Pool. There was a miscommunication as the people at the pool were looking at a bear and cubs on the mountainside west of Oak Street. No bears were actually at the pool.

Officer conducted a directed patrol of Ouray RV Park.

Officer initiated a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Main Street for Speeding.

Officer responded to three more bear calls around Ouray.

Officer conducted a directed patrol of Main Street.

Officer initiated a traffic stop for a defective headlight.

Officer responded to yet another bear call in the area of the 200 block of Main Street.

Officer responded to the 200 block of Sixth Avenue for a report of a domestic disturbance. A 53-year-old-female was issued a summons for indecent conduct.

Aug. 31

Officer responded to the 600 block of Main Street for a bank alarm.

Officer responded to the 500 block of Main Street for a motor vehicle accident.

Officer responded to the area of Eighth Avenue and Second Street to check on a dog left in a car.

Officer conducted a directed patrol of the new stop signs on Third Avenue and Second Street.

Officer initiated a traffic stop for someone who ran the stop sign on Third Avenue and Second Street.

Officer responded to a group of motorcycles parked in the middle of the road in the 600 block of Main Street. Parking citations were issued.

Officer conducted a directed patrol of Rotary Park.

Officer responded to a parking problem in the 600 block of Main Street. More motorcycles decided the middle of the highway was a great place to park their bikes.

Officer responded to the 800 block of Main Street for a motorist assist. A vehicle needed a jump start.

Officer conducted a directed patrol of Ouray RV Park.

Officer conducted bar checks of O’Briens Pub and Silver Eagle Saloon.

Officer initiated a traffic stop for a defective headlight in the 600 block of Main Street.

Officer conducted a directed patrol in the 600 block of Main Street.

Officer initiated a traffic stop for speeding in the 600 block of Main Street.

Officer gave a courtesy transport to a woman walking home from work in the 400 block of Main Street. She was scared of bears in the area.

Officer responded to the 800 block of Second Street for a bear call.

Sept. 1

Officer responded to Fellin Park to take custody of found property.

Officer assisted other agencies on County Road 17 for a report of a domestic disturbance.

Officer conducted a directed patrol of Amphitheater Road.

Officer conducted a directed patrol of Cascade Falls.

Officer took a report of a restraining order violation. A 46-year-old-male was arrested for violating a restraining order.

Officer responded to the 800 block of Main Street to take custody of a found credit card.

Officer responded to the 300 block of Seventh Avenue for a two-vehicle accident.

Officer responded to the 900 block of Fourth Street for a bear call.

Officer responded to the 500 block of Main Street to take custody of a found set of car keys.

Officer responded to the area of Highway 550 and Loretta Court for a single-vehicle motorcycle accident. The rider was transported to the hospital.

Officer conducted a directed patrol of Ouray RV Park.

Officer responded to the 700 block of Oak Street for a bear call.
