The Ouray City Council this morning unanimously selected three finalists for the city administrator job.
• Frank Bell, who most recently served as the community manager and CEO of the Sea Ranch Homeowners’ Association and Sea Ranch Water Company in Northern California. Bell previously served as the town manager of Telluride and Crested Butte and the police chief in Park City, Utah. He also helped manage certain aspects of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
• Silas Clarke, who is currently the city administrator of Hickman, Nebraska. He formerly served as the assistant grant administrator in the mayor’s office in Omaha.
• Eric Duthie, who most recently served as the town manager of Tusayan, Arizona. He has extensive city management and law enforcement experience in Arizona.
The finalists were announced after councilors met in executive session for about 10 minutes.
“I think we have some really good candidates,” Councilor Glenn Boyd said.
The city will host the three men for a series of interviews and a community reception in Ouray on Sept. 25.
The city received 41 applications for the job, which has been open since Justin Perry resigned this spring to run for Ouray County sheriff. Melissa Drake, the city’s clerk and finance and administrative services director, has been serving as acting city administrator.
The search was facilitated by Colorado Springs-based executive search firm KRW Associates.
