With the outlook on our flammable conditions not improving, the Ouray County Sheriff’s Department and the Ouray Fire Department have officially cancelled the fireworks and flare parade portions of the July Fourth celebration in Ouray.
“This was not a easy decision for any of us, but I think it is the right decision considering what the rest of the state is going through,” Sheriff Mattivi said in an email to the Plaindealer.
In a last minute effort to provide a substitute form of entertainment, the Ouray Chamber Resort Association has procured a fantastic and well known musical act to perform a concert in Fellin Park that will be free to attend. Mike Gwinn and the North Folk Flyers will take the stage at 4:00 p.m. and play until 7:00 p.m.
