All Ridgway Secondary School seniors, six juniors and the school's volleyball team are in quarantine this week after a student tested positive for COVID-19 last week.
In an email to staff and parents, Ridgway Secondary Principal Russell Randolph said the student showed minor symptoms on Thursday and stayed home from school and was tested Friday. A positive test result came back on Saturday.
The quarantine will remain in effect through Feb. 14, but with a mid-winter break the week of Feb. 15 and a professional development day Feb. 22, students will not return to in-person learning until Feb. 23.
As of Friday, with four new cases confirmed, Ouray County had reported a total of 222 cases of coronavirus — 201 positive and 21 probable.
