Interim city administrator offered top job

By Mike Wiggins

The Ouray City Council offered the city administrator job to interim head Justin Perry on Monday, sticking to its plan to hire within employee ranks.
The council voted 4-0 to offer Perry a contract at the low end of the advertised pay range, $107,671, what he is currently making as interim administrator. Assuming he takes the job, councilors agreed to re-evaluate his salary after six months.
Mayor Pro Tem Glenn Boyd was absent from the meeting but indicated in comments prepared for the meeting ahead of time that he was on board with offering the job to Perry. Others echoed those sentiments.
"I've only heard great comments about JP (Perry) being our administrator. I think he's going to do a great job," Councilor Dawn Glanc said.
