Food pantry thrives with generous help

Dear Editor,
The Ridgway Community Food Pantry would like to thank our wonderful community for their generous donations throughout this year. We have been privileged to serve 50 to 60 families per week and provide them with quality food to get them through a tough time. We could not do this without the generous donations of money, groceries and time that this community has provided for almost two years.
Thank you to the Trail Town partners for providing the food pantry building for FREE. Thank you to Mountain Market for the large donation of seasonal foods so that everyone can have a full Christmas. Thank you to the volunteers, Board and Operations Committee that keep the food pantry up and running. Thank you to the Ridgway Community Church, United Church of the San Juans, St. Daniels Church, Colona Community Church, Praise Him Ministries and St. John’s Episcopal Church for all that they have provided throughout the years. Thank you to the Weaver Foundation for their constant support since the beginning. Thank you to the Woman’s Club of Ouray County, Ouray County Rodeo Association, Columbine Club, Fortuna Tierra Club, Ridgway Library, W.I.S.E., Ouray Library, Ouray County Plaindealer and the many other organizations that have provided support as well as all the other community members that have made large and small donations of money and food. The need has been great, but our community has made sure that no one has had to go hungry. Thank you to all and have a very Merry Christmas!
