Eleanor Domenica Pricco Cramp

Eleanor Domenica Pricco Cramp
February 9, 1918 ~ May 28, 2014

Eleanor was born to the late Joseph and Martha Pricco in Ouray, on February 9 1918. She attended school in Ouray, and graduated from high school on May 22, 1935. Eleanor attended Western State College to pursue a degree in teaching. While in college she met George Cramp, a flight instructor on campus. Upon graduating from Western State on May 29, 1941, she taught high school in Paonia for one year. On June 10, 1942, Eleanor and George Cramp were married in Denver. This is where they remained after George was hired by Continental Airlines. Before being relocated to California, Eleanor and George had two sons. Then in 1959, when Continental Airlines acquired jets, the fami- ly was transferred to Palos Verdes, California.
After spending five years in California, Eleanor and family were relocated again in 1964. This time they were transferred to Honolulu, Hawaii. Upon finishing his career with Continental, George and Eleanor stayed in Hawaii until 2006. At this point they moved back to the main land.
When the stay in Hawaii ended, Eleanor and George move to Pennington, New Jersey to live with his son Art and wife Liz. In six months they again moved to Ouray and lived in the house where she was born. At that point Bob and wife Vickie watched over them for anoth- er six and a half years. When Eleanor’s health began to diminish, they move to Sunrise Creek in Montrose. Eleanor and her spouse remained there until she was called home on May 28, 2014.
Eleanor enjoyed dancing, oriental cooking, playing the piano and most of all duplicate bridge. She enjoyed Hawaii so much; she felt she was a native son of the Islands. Eleanor never did care for cold weather, mainly because of the outside privy at her childhood home in Ouray.
Eleanor’s death was preceded by her brother Arthur Pricco of Denver.
