After receiving more than $120,000 in funding for a new playground through grants and local donations, the Ouray School District found out last week that it will receive the biggest award yet: a grant of $290,000 from the Colorado Health Foundation.
“This district does not know how lucky we are to have Nicole and Danika bringing in over $400,000 to our district. We will finally have a playground that matches our wonderful instruction inside the building,” Superintendent Scott Pankow said, referring to Danika Gilbert, grant writer and project manager, and school board Vice President Nicole Skoloda.
